Zee Karkabi: "is.it.time:yet?" in the making...

Strumming his guitar and belting out heartfelt tunes at our local watering holes, Zee is definitely an example of true talent. His talent doesn't just stop at that. With months and months of hard work, he is just about ready to release his debut album.

Entitled is.it.time:yet?, the album will be produced by Elie Akl (The Brain Studio) and Zee himself. Mixing will be done by The Brain Studio, and to top it all off, it will be mastered at the Abbey Road Studios in England.

He describes the upcoming album and his experience as such: "It's been an electrifying experience, recording and releasing my debut album. I've been working on the material for a while now...
This current phase is just a matter of presenting a homogenous output, a complete story, with artistic elements that complement each other, sonically, graphically, and most importantly the overall feel of the album... The trip."

You can see some of this illustrated in the album art and photo sessions by Youssef Nassar and Georges Yazbek.

Zee's talent is raw and his inspirations include Radiohead, Steven Wilson, Muse, Tom Waits, and Pink Floyd, so I am definitely looking forward to this! is.it.time:yet? will be out between the end of summer and the beginning of fall... fingers crossed for an awesome result.

In the meantime, while we wait for the pure magic that is unfolding, don't miss Zee Stripped at The Hole in the Wall tomorrow night, Monday, June 13, 2016, alongside Kristian Reslan on bass guitars, Simon El Khoury on drums, and Elie Ishac on Ableton and pads.
